The rumor on the street is that only 200 copies of this movie were produced before David DeCoteau pulled it for “poor sales.” That makes this easily one of the rarest Cinema Home Video releases. Later on the director started selling DVD-Rs of this movie on Ebay with added bonus footage, but he hasn’t done that in a long while, making that semi-bootleg/semi-official DVD-R very rare as well. This movie is fantastic, so the promise of bonus footage existing makes me semi-hard and makes me want to find a DVD copy of this. I found my copy at a porn shop (the name/location of which I can’t recall). It was the only copy sitting there and was sealed. I bought it because the movie looked amazing (and looked like a Gremlins rip-off), but didn’t realize how rare it was till I got it home. I had to open it so we could review it, but kind of wish I hadn’t, because later on I was able to find another copy (yes, that’s right, I owned 2/200) from a collector. I traded that one for a bunch of rare Nickelodeon stuff. If you have the chance to see this movie, do it. It’s one of my prized tapes from a really cool cult/horror distributor that I love to collect.
